The above Chinese character represents "the spirit of harmony between heaven and earth".  The concept of balance within nature, such as; yin-yang, dark-light, air-soil, heat-cold, represent states of equilibrium that occur naturally within our surroundings.  This balance in nature provides us with a perfect model for our own harmonious state of health.
