WHAT TO EXPECT:

Each session lasts about one hour. However, the first treatment may take up to 1.5 hours with the initial paperwork. Using Oriental Medicine, diagnosis is made by: questioning, feeling the radial pulses, examining the tongue and palpating the abdomen. There are several techniques utilized within the realm of Oriental Medicine: needling (acupuncture), heat (moxabustion, heat lamp), suction (cupping), massage (Tui’na & Shiatsu), and scraping (Gwa Sha). There are many types of needling, such as Auricular (in the ear), scalp acupuncture and electrical stimulation through the needles. The needles are left in for about 20 minutes. Most people find acupuncture to be quite relaxing.
